The course covers essential topics including the principles of gas testing, combustible gases, toxic gases, oxygen deficiency and oxygen enrichment, lower explosive limit (LEL), upper explosive limit (UEL), confined space gas monitoring, hot work gas testing, continuous atmospheric monitoring, calibration and bump testing of gas detectors, sampling techniques, gas detector maintenance, permit to work systems, emergency response procedures, and relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
